The Spanish company Meteo for Energy, which specialises in weather and energy forecasting, has prepared an analysis - The deviation costs of renewable energies: the key to grid stability and the electricity transition - in which it presents what it calls "the keys to understanding the rise in deviation costs". The main objective of the analysis - Meteo explains - is "to understand how renewable energy sources are affected by the new deviation cost methodology and what the real impact is based on the objectivity of the data".

The 'green' aftermath of haze: mud reduces solar output by up to 15%.

According to a research by Meteo for Energy, a 50 megawatt CSP plant could lose up to 225,000 euros per day, taking into account the current price of electricity and provided that the mud completely prevents its operation. In photovoltaic plants, production could temporarily drop by 10-15%.
